Co-producing content with teens and young adults
To generate content we have established a co-production process, where young people can volunteer and get hands-on experience in media production, digital storytelling, and creative leadership.
We deliver this content either through our own Destination volunteers or my running projects with our partner colleges or youth settings. Not only do we produce youth-led, relevant content, but the participants we work with develop essential digital and employability skills.
For those that lack the personal skills to embrace these opportunities – we run outreach pop-up creative workshops that help participants to break down some of the barriers that might be preventing them from engaging – such as self confidence.
We don’t just deliver workshops – we establish pathways for participants to reach their own personal destination.
Feedback and impact on participants
• All participants reported that they increased their skills throughout the duration of the project
• 33% average increase in skills across 19 measurements
• All participants reported a minimum 50% increase in skills in at least one measurement
• One participant secured a health-related volunteering opportunity
